Winter is gone, Noida buys 10 smog guns to tackle rising pollution levels

NOIDA: The Noida Authority purchased 10 truck-mounted anti-smog gun machines and one Homosep robot sewage cleaning machine on Thursday to tackle rising pollution levels and improve sanitation in the region. Officials said these measures aimed at managing air pollution under GRAP guidelines.
An anti-smog gun is a device designed to help reduce the concentration of smog particles in the air. It typically works by spraying a fine mist of water into the atmosphere. This mist helps to bind airborne particulate matter like dust and pollutants together so that they can settle more quickly, thereby temporarily reducing the density of smog.
Noida CEO Lokesh M said, “Each anti-smog gun machine has a capacity of 7,000 litres. These vehicles are equipped with a sprinkler system on both sides and an anti-smog gun installed at the back, which can control air pollution within a radius of 30m. This machine will also be used for watering plants, road dust suppression, etc. Each machine will be deployed by the concerned department of authority to help in controlling air pollution in the city.”
Additionally, the Homosep sewage cleaning machine will ensure the safety of sanitation workers and help in resolving complaints regarding clogged manholes. The machine, which offers an end-to-end solution to eliminate manual scavenging, is Noida’s first septic tank/manhole cleaning machine
