| Restoring Water Quality & Access
India loses nearly 38 per cent of treated water in distribution. In some cities, the losses reach close to 60 per cent. Water is lost because of ongoing issues with supply pipelines, and these defects can also cause contaminations, impacting water quality. As a combination of robotics and AI built for our country, Endobot and Swasth AI help civic bodies respond to these hidden challenges by quickly identifying them and enabling proactive maintenance.
| Protecting Workers’ Lives & Dignity
India has banned manual scavenging for decades, yet 377 people died in sewer and septic tank incidents between 2019 and 2023. More than seven lakh citizens are still forced to do this dangerous, inhuman work. Using purpose-built robotics, HomoSEP ensures that humans are never exposed to these dangers. The cleaning gets done safely from above ground, without human entry, restoring dignity and safety to essential sanitation work.

Our Projects
Strengthening Public Health Through Safe Drinking Water
CSR Partner: Water.org
Implementation Partner: Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board.
Under Water.org’s CSR support, Solinas implemented a pilot drinking water pipeline inspection project in Hyderabad to address contamination-related public health risks. Within just 4 km of inspections, over 60 critical contamination points were identified and rectified, preventing potential disease outbreaks. Based on the pilot’s success, the initiative has now scaled into a city-wide, multi-year program with dedicated teams across all zones of Hyderabad, significantly strengthening urban public health systems and contamination prevention efforts
Eliminating Manual Scavenging Through Robotics
CSR Partner: HCL Foundation
Implementation Partner: Noida Authority
As part of HCL Foundation’s My Clean City initiative, Solinas partnered with Noida Authority to eradicate manual scavenging through robotic sewer cleaning. In the first 6 months of the project being initiated, 450+ high-risk manholes have been cleaned using the HomoSEP robot, without a single instance of human entry, including narrow lanes inaccessible to conventional machinery. The project has achieved zero manual scavenging in operational sectors and is now being scaled to cover all of Noida, demonstrating how CSR-backed technology can drive lasting systemic change.
Reducing Non-Revenue Water and Saving 80 Million Litres
CSR Partners: Titan Company, Villgro, Sattva
Implementation Partner: Kolhapur Municipal Corporation
Selected as a winner of Titan’s Design Impact Awards, Solinas implemented a CSR-supported pilot in Kolhapur to reduce water losses through advanced pipeline inspections. The project targets saving 80 million litres of drinking water, directly helping the city reduce Non-Revenue Water (NRW) and operational costs. This initiative showcases how innovation-led CSR can strengthen municipal efficiency while safeguarding scarce water resources.
Advancing Dignity and Safety in Urban Sanitation – Chennai
CSR Partner: Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited(CPCL)
Implementation Partner: Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board
Through CPCL’s CSR initiative, two HomoSEP robotic units have been deployed in Chennai’s high-risk sanitation zones to eliminate manual scavenging. Implemented in partnership with CMWSSB and inaugurated by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin, the project is enabling safer, mechanised sewer cleaning across critical areas. The initiative is now positioned for scale-up to cover the entire city, reinforcing Chennai’s commitment to humane sanitation practices.
Multi-City Transformation: From Manual Scavengers to Robotic Operators
CSR Partner: Wells Fargo
Implementation Partners:
Government Bodies - Secunderabad Cantonment Board, Nalgonda Municipality, Manthani Municipality, Madurai Municipal Corporation
NGOs - NERD Society Coimbatore, S3IDF, Thamate, TAHDCO
With CSR support from Wells Fargo, Solinas is implementing a multi-location sanitation transformation program across southern India. The project combines robot deployment with hands-on training, enabling sanitation workers to transition from hazardous manual scavenging to skilled robotic operators. Strong adoption by municipal bodies, cantonment boards, and NGOs has led to complete elimination of manual scavenging in multiple locations, proving that inclusive CSR models can deliver both social dignity and operational sustainability.
